MDP PROGRESSEIVE CAUCUS CHAIR RECUSAL AND SECRETARY RESIGNATION
This past April Kelly Collison, the Chair of the Michigan Democratic Party (MDP) Progressive Caucus decided to run for Michigan State House District 68. Simultaneously, she recused herself from all electoral responsibilities related to her position as Chair of the MDP Progressive Caucus and delegated these responsibilities to the Vice Chair, Ayman Khafagi. The MDP Progressive Caucus Executive Committee unanimously approved the chair’s recusal from her electoral responsibilities on May 1, 2018.
On June 22, 2018, TyJuan Thirdgill the Caucus secretary resigned. The caucus is currently searching for a replacement. The Executive Committee will vote on a replacement. The entire caucus membership will confirm the choice or vote for a different secretary during the MDP’s nomination convention on August 25, 26, 2018.
